Although no one is going to be seeing this post for atleast another 6 weeks I wanted to start sharing about the early weeks of pregnancy with Carlos. So let me start from the beginning.
Back on January 24, 2009 Sean and I were married on a very cold winter day after only 2 months of planning the wedding. If it had been up to Sean we would have done it even earlier, but thankfully we settled on 2 months. Most people wouldn’t think you could plan a wedding in only 2 months, but everyone sprang into action and made it happen.
Surrounded by our family and friend we celebrated this wonderful day. Our very good friend Erik agreed to get ordained online and marry us and we were so happy to have him be a part of this special day. It all went by in a blur but thankfully Sean’s mom made a video for us of the day and it is such a special present that we can look back on in the years to come and remember our day.
Fast forward a year…
3 Weeks after our 1st anniversary and surprise we are pregnant. I say surprise because I think that even when you are planning for it, you still get surprised when it actually happens. We are both very excited about this new chapter to our lives together. I can’t speak for Sean but I know I am anxiously awaiting the 2nd trimester so I can get past that time of uncertainty.
On to more important things, namely what we are going to call this baby while he/she is in my belly. While on vacation in Hawaii over New Years we started talking baby names, really just throwing out names that we like. One of the names that Sean suggested was Carlos, unfortunately I don’t think that Carlos goes very well with Payne, so I vetoed it. Sean is convinced that I am going to come around. I thought a good compromise would be to call the baby Carlos until he/she is born.
As first time parents we are both not sure what lies ahead of us but thankfully we have 9 months to figure out as much as we can.
