Today is the start of Week 7 and as usual I am excited for the new week to begin. So many things are happening for Carlos right now. Carlos is now the size of a blueberry, which doesn’t seem like much, but is actually 10,000 times bigger now than at conception. Most of Carlos’ growth this week is concentrated in his head and he will be a very smart baby considering new brain cells are being generated at 100 cells per minute. Mouth and tongue are forming this week as well as arm and leg buds.
No real changes for me this week. I am still blessed to be symptom free and hoping that it continues and I am one of the lucky ones that never gets morning sickness. Although I am now concerned that just by typing it I am going to jinx myself.
I have decided that Fridays are the best day of the week for a couple of reasons: 1. Friday is the first day of my new week, 2. I look forward to getting out my What to Expect When you Expecting book and read about all the new and exciting things that are going on for Carlos and 3. It is the last work day before I get two days off to spend with Sean.
In the coming week we are going to visit my family in Seattle and meet with a potential midwife. I am both nervous and excited to meet with someone possibly responsible for the birth of my baby in 9 short months.
