With the high last week of finally announcing the pregnancy to the world this week just didn’t have anything that really measured up, in terms of the pregnancy. Sure my clothes are getting tighter and the belly that always seemed to disappear in the morning is now sticking around but it just feels like another week.
I am really hoping this isn’t a blog of me complaining about my weight, but oh my goodness I was sad yesterday morning when I saw how much weight I gained this week. I pretty much gained as much this week as I had in the previous 14 weeks. My brain completely understands why I am gaining weight, it is all part of the business of being pregnancy but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have a hard time with the scale moving up so quickly.
But I have decided that this is all about making sure Carlos is healthy and that I stay healthy during this pregnancy so…. I am not going to worry about the weight. I will continue to eat healthy but not feel bad for having pizza or burgers and fries one night. And if in the end I gain a little more than I planned I will just work harder once he is here to get it off. No sense in stressing out about it now.
Carlos is making his way throught the produce section, this week he is about the size of an apple. At nearly 4 inches long and 2 1/2 ounces he is really growing. His lung are developing, legs are growing longer than his arms and he is now able to move all of his joints. Carlos is now sensitive to light even with his eyelids fused together.
With the countdown on to our 20 week anatomy scan, 4 1/2 weeks from now, I am getting so excited to see him and to possibly find out whether Carlos is a boy or a girl. Thankfully we have a vacation and holiday weekend to keep us occupied until then.

I just love all the comparisons to fruit and the pictures that goes with it! It is also exciting to read at just what stage Carlitos’ development is, and his/her mum’s development
Btw, Pedro says I should say Carlitos as it is the endearment form of Carlos.
You look beautiful and truly don’t worry about the weight gain. It is normal and a healthy part of pregnancy. If you breastfeed you lose the weight quickly.
