Sophie is going to be well versed in traveling between Canada and the US in no time at all.
Since Sean and I both have Nexus passes we didn’t waste any time applying for her pass as well. It is crazy to think that a newborn requires a pre-clearance to cross the border with her parents if they both have passes. But rules are rules so we went ahead and applied for one so that we could all cross the border through the nexus lane.
Once she was approved we set an appointment for her ‘interview’. Funny right? Really for her it is just when they take her picture for her card, not an actually interview. Originally her interview was suppose to be on the 1st but thankfully the office in Blaine takes walk in’s for young kids so we didn’t have to wait until the 1st to get the pass.
So off Sophie and I went the other day for a trip to the very exciting Blaine Washington. In fact we didn’t even go to Blaine we really just went to the border and then back, but I think it still counts as her first international trip.
The trip was a success and her pass should be here in the next 7-10 days. Too bad it didn’t get here before we head to the states this weekend. Oh well we will just have to wait in the regular line.
