When you come to a city like Munich it one of those times when it would be nice to be able to drink. I haven`t missed drinking much over the last year, but it is hard to come to Germany and not have a big beer. Although I wasn`t drinking this beer we got a picture anyways.
Sean got a beer big enough for both of us and I was able to have a sip. The beer is about the same size as Sophie. Sophie isn`t sure what to make of this large beer Sean had at a local beer hall, one made famous as a place where Hitler gave some speeches. The beer hall was our first stop after arriving and it was great fun to see loads of people hanging out at big tables with benches for seats drinking beer and listening to polka music. Eventhough it was very loud Sophie enjoyed the music.
We walked along a large pedestrian street full of shops and a very cool old church and clock tower. When traveling it is always hard to have everyone included in the picture, so you rely on strangers to take pictures of you. Something that Sean and I have discovered over the years is that for some reason when others are taking pictures they always seem to want to make sure that your legs are in the picture. The problem is that usually you end up with less of the attraction behind you and more of your legs. It was nice none the less of the person to take our picture.
The last night in Munich we headed to another beer hall, one that is more full of locals and less of a touristy place. At first we weren`t sure where we were suppose to sit since most of the tables had reservation signs. We eventually found an empty table and sat down hoping none one would make us leave. Thankfully the waitress told us we had an hour and a half until the reservation arrived, no worries there is no way we would take an hour and a half.
Our dinner was so good with hamburger pattie, pretzel dumpling (my favourite), meat ravioli and pork all smothered in a mushroom gravy. Unfortunately the picture is still on our camera so I will have to add the picture another day.
*Update: Here is the really yummy dinner we had on our last night in Munich
The next destination is Bern Switzerland.

Sophie is really eying that beer when you were holding it Kim, I think she wanted a big swig.
It looks like Sophie is thinking “really dad”. What a funny picture.
