Our second day in Rome started much later than expected considering we didn’t even wake up until noon. Clearly we were all making up for the lack of sleep we got on the train. Once we were ready for the day we headed out for some food before tackling our list of things to see on our last day in Rome. We stopped at a cafe next to our hotel and I had the best cappuchino of my life. I have never really been a fan of them but apparently all I needed to do was go to Italy and have a proper cappuchino to appreciate them.
The best part was that we were able to sit outside and have our breakfast in the sun because the weather was so much warmer. This is something I wanted to do in Paris but it was just too cold to sit outside.

It was back to the Vatican where I had to feed Sophie before going in to see St. Peter’s Basilica. Everyone again was admiring Sophie because this time she was asleep with her hands clasped as if she was praying. Sophie actually does this all the time in the Bjorn because she likes to have her arms in by her chest.
Since you can’t visit the Vatican without seeing the Sistine Chapel we headed in that direction. We quickly walked through the exhibits and made it to the chapel. I will be honest, I was expecting something much more grand. I was expecting something the size of the basilica with a dome painted, not something the size of a chapel. I guess I should have figured it out from the fact that it was called a chapel and not a basilica.

Next on the tour list was the Colliseum which was quite impressive. The part about Rome that I really liked was the fact that you can walk out of a metro station and right in front of you is something as amazing as the colliseum. You can have ancient ruins and modern apartment buildings right next to eachother. It really is by far my favourite place we have visited on this trip.
We then tried to make our way to the Trevi fountain but thanks to walking in the wrong direction managed to find the panthenon instead. We hadn`t really planned to visit the panthenon but since we stumbled on it by accident we looked at the famous dome, which I think is something like the oldest dome in the world.
After a dinner of some pizza and my first gelato in italy we decided to head back to the hotel and found this crazy pedestrian street filled with people. The only thing we could figure out was that possibly since it was a friday night everyone was out shopping or browsing the stores that lined the street.
The next morning we took an early train to Venice to spend a few days there.

I love how Kim is punctuating her sightseeing by breastfeeding Sophie at all the famous sites.
And the way Sophie is looking at the ceiling of Sistine Chapel is really cute. All the pics are really great!
